Special Quotes from THE GIFT written by Cecelia Ahern 2

Old house, colorful trim, in Winter by Springsun.

People, like houses, hold their secrets.

Sometimes, the secret inhabit them, sometimes they inhabit their secrets.

They wrap their arms tight to hug them close, twist their tongues around the truth.

But after time truth prevails, rises above all else.

It squirms and wriggles inside, grows until the swollen tongue can't wrap itself around the lies any longer, until the time comes when it needs to spit the words out and send truth flying in he air and crashing into the world.
Truth and time always work alongside one another.

People, unlike parcels, hide secrets, who cover themslves with layers until they present themselves to the right ones who can unwrap them and see inside.

Sometimes you have to give yourself to somebody in order to see who you are.

Sometimes you have to unravel things to get to the core.

Special Quotes from THE GIFT written by Cecelia Ahern

Christmas Presents by AnswersClub.

A lesson finds the common denominator and links us all together like a chain.
At the end of that chain dangles a clock, and on the face of the clock the passing of time is registered.
We hear it, the hushed tick-tock sound that breaks any silence, and we see it. but often we don't feel it.
Each second makes its mark on every person's life; comes and then goes, quietly disappearing without fanfare, evaporating into air like steam from piping hot Christmas pudding.
Enough time leaves us warm; when our time is gone, it leaves us cold.
Time is more precious than gold, more precious than diamonds, more precious than oil or any valuable treasures.
It is time we do not have enough of it, it is time that causes the war within our hearts, so we must spent it wisely.
Time cannot be ackaged and ribboned and left under trees for Christmas morning.
TIME CAN'T BE GIVEN.
BUT IT CAN BE SHARED!

The Ugly Facts of Life

There are times and times I pondered over this question...

What is the main purpose of us to be born into this world? To bring happiness and joy to others? To taste the bitter sweet of life? To hurt other people’s feelings? To protect oneself from harm? To be selfish? To disharmony people? What is the main purpose? Some people are born for each other. Some people are born to hurt people for they love to see hurt in the other one’s eyes. Some people are born to be peacemakers. Some people are born to be bitches and all they do is gossip until no end.

Recently, only I come to learn about the ugly facts of life. Some friends are good whereas some are not. It is easy to judge whether that friend is a good friend or a bad friend when you faced some problems in life, be it a big matter or a small matter, you can see through their true colours. Give an example, your tent was flooding, your friends were just standing like a doorstep away. All they did was stared and looked at you one kind as if you have gone mad, and slowly they turned their faces away. What friends do you categorized as? The truth is nobody will actually come and help you when you are in trouble. When there is nothing in for them, nobody will be stupid enough to help you. But there are times when people you think that are enemies turned out to be good and caring friends. Never would I think that my enemy turned out to be a good and caring friend. He observed from far and support you silently, giving you hope that all the dreams are still not shattered. I appreciate that, I really do. Thanks for supporting me during my wildest storms. Here, it makes me view things in a different angle again…

Is it because once bitten, twice shy? I no longer have much faith in people. I felt somehow betrayed by a lot of things that I once hold on dearly to. The innocence and ‘the happy go lucky’ feeling are gone. One turned to be more mature and for once, she stops and thinks about every single thing. She analyzes everything and she comes to know the bitter truth of life, that life is harsh and cruel. There are not many good people around and there are not much people you can turn to when you faced problems. The people that you trust have somehow betrayed your feelings. Who can you turn to? You are left in isolation and drifting on a lonely sea.

How come there are no perfect people in this world?

If God has made all of us to be good, wouldn’t it be better? There will be no more fights and disharmony between people. The world will be full of happy people, no more sufferings and pains. But again, this kind of dream would not happen for all men are greedy and they only care about their own needs. Who will be stupid enough to dip oneself into big trouble to help patch things up? No one will do that…

I somehow lose the meaning of life. The only thing that I cling onto everyday is I try to do my best to satisfy everybody and create happiness in others. I know I should have care more about myself but somehow creating happiness in other people give me some pleasures. The smile is something that I won’t forget when I see their happy faces.

Life

I don't know why I am saying this...but I have the feeling that I am getting older...and somehow...no matter how I wanted to be like yesterdays...when I was young, free and happy again...I couldn't...
I feel old...I felt that I am growing up...and there are a lot of things that I wished it to be invisible to both my naked eyes...but I couldn't...There are simply too many ugly facts of life...I wished to turn my head...but these things keep popping out one by one...like mushrooms grow and bloom after a rainy day...
The truth is I don't know what is wrong with me...
I am no longer my old self...
the bubbliness had gone...
the smile is forced and fake...
the laughter does not come from the heart...
the face is no longer merry and happy...it is sad and worry...anxious...
I have lose faith in others...
I am keeping more things to myself
Feelings bottled up...
I wonder when will be the next erruption be...
I want to be FREE...
but that will never happen...
I am searching for the meaning of life...
Sometimes I am sick of it...
I wish I can look things at a different angle...
but there is always a shadow following me...
looking at my every single move...
I have to continue this pretency...
to acheive the many happiness of others...
abandoning my own happiness...
I have lost the meaning of life...
The dreams I once had had shattered...
the pieces that remained...
served as a bitter memory...

Themes on To Kill a Mockingbird - Courage and Prejudice

In the novel ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, Harper Lee illustrates the theme of courage. In my opinion, courage is the ability to face pain or opposition without showing fear. However, according to Atticus Finch, “Courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what”. There are two kinds of courage namely moral courage and the courage to take on and carry through a task which is certain to end in failure.

The most significant courage is the courage to take on and carry through a task which is certain to end in failure. Atticus illustrates this form of courage when he is willing to take on Tom Robinson’s case. Although he knows very well that the people in Maycomb will give him and his family a bad impression because he laws for niggers. Nonetheless he decides to help Tom Robinson. He puts his family’s life in danger by taking on the case. Jem and Scout are nearly killed by Bob Ewell on their way back from the Halloween party. When Atticus says “The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience”, he strongly believes in doing what is right even though it may seem wrong to the society.

Defending the blacks is a taboo in the society. No matter how innocent they are, they are still considered as guilty by the society. Although some of the Whites know that Tom Robinson is innocent, they do not have the courage to stand up for him because they feel that the jury’s decision will be biased towards the Whites no matter how much evidence is provided to prove that Tom is innocent. Atticus chooses to do otherwise. As he says in “Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win”. Although he knows very well that he will not be able to win the case, he tries his very best to persuade the jury. He also creates awareness to people that prejudice is happening in Maycomb. Besides that, he also teaches his children that being courageous is not about holding a gun in your hand but standing up for what is right no matter what other believes.

Moral courage is also shown in Atticus. Atticus shows strong moral courage when he is being criticized by the community ever since he decides to take on Tom Robinson’s case. For example, he does not side Jem when Mrs. Dubose criticized him. “Son, I have no doubt that you’ve been annoyed by your contemporaries about me lawing for niggers, as you say, but to do something like this sick old lady is inexcusable. I strongly advise you to go down and have a talk with Mrs. Dubose”. Instead of being proud of his son for standing up for him, he makes Jem apologize to Mrs. Dubose. Atticus feels that everybody are entitled to think what they want and they are entitled to full respect of their opinions. Besides that, Atticus also shows strong moral courage when Bob Ewell cursed him and threatened to kill him. To Bob’s surprise, he does not fight back. Instead, he just says that he is too old to fight. Atticus also role models his sense of bravery by refusing to carry a gun to protect himself after Bob Ewell threatened to kill him. To Atticus, “having a gun around is an invitation to somebody to shoot you”. Atticus also strongly believes that withholding violence is the highest form of courage.

Another theme in the novel is prejudice. In my opinion, prejudice means an unreasonable dislike for a person based on their race, religion and sex. Prejudice is said to be the “Maycomb’s usual disease”. Black people occupy the lowest class level of Maycomb’s society as Maycomb’s white population of every class waste no time in reinforcing their rigid class rules. The characters, Atticus Finch and Aunt Alexandra have different opinions on racism and this has greatly influenced Scout’s life.

Aunt Alexandra is prejudiced against the Blacks and also some of the Whites in the community such as the Cunninghams. Aunt Alexandra believes that because the Finch family comes from a long line of landowners who have been the county for generations they deserve greater respect than do other people and they must comport themselves according to their status. She refuses to associate with both black and white citizens alike because they do not fill the same social position. From the first moment she steps into Scout’s house, she begins to show Scout and Jem that she is more superior towards the Blacks. She orders Calpurnia, the Finch’s housekeeper who is a black to put her bag in the front bedroom. She neither says “please” or “thank you” to Calpurnia, but just a simple command that puts Calpurnia into an inferior position. Besides that, she also tries to counsel Atticus to get rid of Calpurnia. “And don’t try to get around it. You’ve got to face it sooner or later and it might as well as be tonight. We don’t need her now”.

In addition, she is also prejudiced against the Cunninghams. She does not allow the children to invite Walter Cunningham for dinner and to play with him. “Because – he – is – trash, that’s why you can’t play with him. I’ll not have you around him, picking up his habits and learning Lord-knows-what”. Her reason is simple and that is because the status of the Cunninghams does not par with the Finches. She wants Scout and Jem to “behave like the little lady and gentlemen” and “[they] should try to live up to their family name”.

On the other hand, Atticus has a completely different point of view from his sister. He shows the highest respect for everyone in Maycomb regardless their colour or class. His defense for Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman, proves his high ideals. Atticus not only shows his non prejudice through the trial for Tom Robinson, but also through his conduct with Calpurnia. Atticus turns down Alexandra’s attempts to fire Calpurnia. “Alexandra, Calpurnia’s not leaving this house until she wants to. You may think otherwise, but I couldn’t have got along without her all these years. She’s a faithful member of this family and you’ll simply have to accept things the way they are”. Atticus respects Calpurnia as an equal and he values everything that Calpurnia has done for the family.

When Tom Robinson trial begins, prejudice as racism can be seen clearly in the novel. Tom is being charged with the rape of a white girl. The county will not believe Tom’s word over the white girl because he is a Black. They do not think that it is possible for a white girl to actually want to kiss a black man. The town does not believe that a black man will feel sorry for a white girl and help her for no payment at all. Therefore, they assumed that Tom was guilty. The Whites in Maycomb have this evil assumption “that all Negroes lie, that all Negroes are basically immoral beings, that all Negro men are not to be trusted around our women”. Although the truth is Tom is innocent, the Whites simply ignore the fact.

In conclusion, both themes play a major role in making the novel more interesting. Prejudice is a vicious cycle that is passed down from generation to generation and it is very hard to stop unless somebody is courageous enough to stand up for their right.

To Kill a Mockingbird - Scout growing up

In the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Scout grows up from innocence to maturity. She learns something important that cannot be learnt inside the classroom. Through the many events happening to her during Tom Robinson’s trial and the gossips about Boo Radley, she gains new insights to the society in the small town of Maycomb.

In the beginning of the story, we know that Scout is a tomboy. She never wears dresses nor behaves like a lady. Instead, she likes to wear overalls and behaves like a boy. It is probably because there are no other little girls around her neighborhood, therefore she is always mixing with the boys especially her brother, Jem. She also engages herself in playing games that only boys played like being wheeled in a tyre. Towards the end of the story, she starts to become more ladylike and she wears dresses. Her more lady side of her emerges when she must have tea with the neighbourhood ladies. She offers Mrs. Merriweather whether she would like to have some cookies in her very best manner. Although Scout does not like Aunt Alexandra’s influence to some extent, she picks up some of the good habits that a girl should have and to be admired.

Young for her age, Scout is literate at the age of six, much to the surprise of her school teacher, Miss Caroline. She is able to read “My First Reader” and the stock market quotations from “The Mobile Register” like any adults. Besides that, she is also interested in books like Tarzan and Ant Men that not many six-years-old are able to grasp the content of it. As she is well read, she is brave to voice out her opinions to adults if she feels that what they are doing is wrong. For example, she sounds Uncle Jack that he is unfair to her when he punishes her straightaway and he does not give her time to explain what had happened between her and Francis during Christmas. After learning the truth, Uncle Jack is dumbfounded. He tells Atticus that Scout has given him his first lesson that is he does not understand children much and why.

Also, Scout also transforms from an innocent girl to a mature girl. Before the trial scene, Scout used to think that all men are good. After that, she chooses to think otherwise. She can see the clear cut discrimination and prejudice against the Blacks in Maycomb. Although all the evidence has proven Tom innocent, the jury still decides that he is guilty because of his colour. No matter how much prejudice the Whites have for Blacks, Scout still believes in equality for everyone. When Jem says that there are four kinds of folks in their society, she begs to differ from him. She says there is just one kind of folks that is folks. When Aunt Alexandra calls Walter Cunningham trash, Scout stands up for him and says that they are good folks.

Another apparent transformation that Scout goes through is when she is able to put herself in other people’s shoes and understand them from their point view. In the beginning of the story, she has the difficulty to understand people like Walter Cunningham. When Jem first invited Walter over for dinner, she could not understand why Walter is drowning his dinner in syrup. It never crosses her mind that Walter is not able to eat syrup as often as she does because his family cannot afford it. The big moment that shows Scout is growing up is that she comes to the conclusion that Mayella must be lonelier than Boo Radley. White people won't have anything to do with her because of her family and poverty. Black people wouldn't have anything to do with her either because she is a white. Scout and Dill have already come to the conclusion that Boo Radley perhaps wants to stay in his house but Mayella seems wants to be a part of a society that won't have anything to do with her. Scout is able to put herself in Mayella's shoes and understand what it must feel like to be Mayella. Scout is able to see that there are different parts to everyone's personality.

In conclusion, Scout’s growing up can be seen throughout the novel from an innocent young girl to a mature young lady. Scout has certainly learns a lot by putting herself into other people’s shoes and the knowledge that she gained has certainly enriched her understanding on the people around her.

Bittersweet memories...

Looking back at the old photos bring back many happy memories. At the same time, my heart aches as well. Well, we are once good friends that shared so many things together... we went shopping together, we eat out together, we gossip together, we go for movies together... all the happy images that we pieced together are lost...

What had hapened to our friendship? Do we just stand here and do nothing to save the friendship? Or it is this friendship is not important at all from the start? All these while it is a lie? Is this your true personality? I hate to believe so. I choose not to believe so... but it is all as cleas as black and white... that you have changed...

Perhaps I am wrong as well... but is this the way to resolve conflicts? When will this cold war going to end? We have set a border, we are playing a game of pretency... How long do we want to continue this game? My mind tells me that you are backstabbing me, and likewise...

Can't we just be friends like before? Are you happier now? Probably you are, but I am not. I simply still can't understand how you can let go of this friendship so easily...
A person'e mouth can be dangerously poisonous. One lie can lead to the unhappiness of many. Maybe I am the most stupid of all... clinging on to this friendship... hoping that one day it will turn out right again... but I know I am living in a dream...

When are we going to put our pride aside?

Dating at a young age might not be good for some...

Dating at a young age might not be good for some. Agree or disagree? Let's just leave that question and see what I got to say before you answer.

Okay, dating is fun. to be loved and to be appreaciated by someone is a very nice feeling. You feel secured, free and being loved. You don't need to worry over so many things, you know there is always someone to help you out if you have problems. You also might have the fanstasy that the one you are with now is going to be your future partner and you might have some future plans together. When you are down, you always have someone by your side and cheer you up. You recalled all the happy moments spent together, like holding hands, having your first kiss, taking couple pictures together, caring less about how expensive a gift would be as long as your partner likes it. How happy it seems, what can you ask for more, than happiness together?

Little did you know that all these happy moments will end suddenly, leaving you in pieces... Nobody to pick you up again. You ae left alone to cry, to console yourself, hoping that all these happenings is just a nightmare, you hope to wake up from this nightmare. Sorry, all these is bitterly true. You find yourself standing in a crossroad, whether to continue your life in the dumps or pull yourself together and face the world again. The choice is in your hands.

I see a lot of people falling down from their way to success because of love or rather lust. The fact is people who date at such an early age are seldom serious about a relationship. It is only trying out or for fun purposes. So, if you are the serious type, date someone around 21 and above. They are more mature and mostly more serious about a relationship. There is no point to start a relationship at an early age, you end up hurting other people's feelings.

All At Once
All at once,
I finally took a moment and I'm realizing that
Your not coming back
And it finally hit me
All at once

All at once
I started counting teardrops and at least a million fell
My eyes began to swell
And all my dreams were shattered
All at once

Ever since I met you
You're the only love I've known
And I can't forget you
So I must face it all alone

Chorus:
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And that's all that matters now
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Holding on to memories
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once

All at once,
I looked around and found that you were with another love
In someone else's arms
And all my dreams were shattered
All at once

All at once
The smile that used to greet me brightened someone else's day
She took your smile away
And left me with just memories
All at once

Ever since I met you
You're the only love I've known
And I can't forget you
So I must face it all alone

Chorus:
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Wishing you'd come back to me
And that's all that matters now
All at once
I'm drifting on a lonely sea
Holding on to memories
And it hurts me more than you know
So much more than it shows
All at once

The Entertainer, The Clown and The Fool

You make a fool of yourself to make them happy. They pay for the performance, they clapped hands, turn their head away and leave happily. The clowns always have to change something new to please the crowds. You perform in an enclosed area, they observe closely to see if you made mistakes. It is fair because they can even throw money on you. It is always easy to watch and comment.
This is originated from Wei Peng. It leaves me pondering after reading it. True, we are clowns and fools most of the time. We are always trying to make other people around us happy, and yet they can call us selfish at times. Different people has different interpretations of things in life. What you think is good may not be as good to another. It is always easy to watch and coment, never knowing how the person might be feeling. You hurt the person purposely or unintentionally, sometimes without you knowing it.
No human beings are perfect. It is natural that human beings have flaws in their character and personality vice. When we can't get something, we will always try our very best to get it. After getting it, you will realise that it is no big deal. It is just another ornament or decorative item. Sooner or later, the feeling for the ornament will soon wear off and you will just put that aside or throw them into the thrash.
Recently, I have a different interpretation of life. It is Madam Nik Norjanah who told us that. Thanks to her, my spirits are being lifted by her. Life is a stage, alright, but you are the protagonist, the main actor or main actress, so it is up to you to run your life. You choose your audience instead. Those who are good to you and make an impact in your life deserved the front seats, whereas those who are not that close to you deserved the back seats. It is about how you managed your life, you decide whether you want to be happy or unhappy. So, whether you like it or not, you have to live one day happily or unhappily...
No matter what happens, you are still you. If you think it is for the better, then change. If not, just be yourself and continue your life. You can never please every single person in life. Though it sounds selfish to put yourself as priority, but if you don't love love yourself, who else will?

Love

You always smile

I never notice you cry because of me

Doesn't know the person that I precious most is just right by my side

Time will wipe away the tears and the sigh

Our photo is comforting me

We are together instead in my heart

Should I say "I love you?"

I'm right by your side as usual

I desire to walk with you by holding your hand

We are together instead in my heart

The end of waiting is beside me

Give me the chance

I will always be by your side anytime

The empty chair without a seater

The subtle memory

With the regret come so late

I cry for you again

In my heart, we are together all the time

Should I say "I love you?"

We are together instead in my heart

I will wait

No matter how late you are, I will wait

So you must come...

Life

In life we meet all kinds of people

People that we think is good

People that we think is bad

Have you ever looked at yourself as a good one or a bad one?

How sure are you that the reflection in the mirror is a perfect one?

You look at people in a way that they are wrong in the situation

What if you put yourself in their shoes for a moment

Maybe you will look at things differently

Humans aren't all together perfect

There are in fact no perfect people in this world

Every person has a good side and a bad side

It is often the case people choose to look at the bad side instead of the good side

Because that gives them a lot to talk about

Simply hot and spicy topic!

Don't do that...please...

You have no idea how the person will react when he or she knows it...

And going through a cloud of gloominess

Because of all these stupid rumours.

If you look at a person's good side,

You may get to know her better

A person is good

so long as her good side is more than her bad side

Just take this as an example...

If an apple is half rotten

What will you do?

Will you discard the apple

Or cut the rotten part and eat it?

I will take the 2nd choice...

An apple can still be eaten eventhough it is half rotten

If you throw the whole apple away,

It will be rotten for sure...

Same goes to a person...

If she is half rotten,

She still has hope to change herself to be good

If you give up on her

She will be bad

Why are people so selfish when it comes to giving compliments?

It won't hurt you a single bit to brighten other people's day

A day will just past just like a morning breeze touches your face...

A moment will then be lost...

Take every moment of your life seriously

So that you won't regret next time...

Outing with Mr. Lim Jun Qi

Where should I begin?
Okay, I know Mr. Lim since we were just babies. We went to the same primary school. Both of us were teacher's children, so in other people's eyes, we were given extra attention compared to other children in the school. This is very true as we would find ourselves in big trouble if we misbehaved in class. The whole school will know then, so we were always extra careful.
We went to separate school in secondary. He stay put in Menglembu whereas I moved to AMC, the elite school in Perak. We were separated then. We only see each other ocassionally, in the shopping complexes.
After Form 5, it so happened that both our parents want us to pursue in accountancy. So, we went to a special tuition twice a week. He did not change much, still the same Jun Qi I know all these while. The Jun Qi who likes cute cute stuff like panda bear....wakakaka!!! It is the first time I see a boy who is so into bears. He has a bigger collection compared to me....hmph!!!
It was nice to go out with him again. He was adamant that he should pick me up to go to Jusco eventhough he doesn't exactly know where my house is. Well, he managed to find it afterall. I hopped in to his car and find all kinds of bear bear stuff in his car. Very cute!!! We had lunch at Black Canyon. He was treating me...wakakaka!!! As usual, we were always discussing about our parents. He was having a hard time to persuade his mum to let him further his studies in KL instead of Kampar. He said that Kampar life bored him, and he wanted to meet more people. Well, I have the same opinion as him, that was the main reason that stopped me going to Kampar to study in the first place. His mother was once my teacher too. She was very strict as far as I could recall. She wants everything in perfect order. I was under her for Syarahan, Story telling competition and etc. I was also in her BM class. But, she could also be very nice. She would give treat to the students who excel in their studies. Well, hopefully he could manage to persuade his mum to let him study in KL. Then, I won't have problem going out every weekend. HEHEHE!!! He knows more places of interests than me in KL, can always ask him to become the tourguide...wakaka!!!
FRIENDS FOREVER!!!

Angels and Demons

Angels and Demons with Tom Hanks as the main actor brings a lot of unimaginable happenings and moral values to my life.
Under the watchful eye of Father Silvano Bentivoglio and Dr. Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer), the CERN scientists start the Large Hadron Collider and manage to capture three vials of antimatter.
Immediately afterward, someone kills Father Silvano, and uses his retina to break into the containment room to steal one vial of anti-matter.In Rome, the Vatican mourns the passing of the Pope. The Vatican staff prepares for the Conclave of the College of Cardinals, which will select the next Pope. Until the Conclave selects a new Pope, the Camerlengo (Ewan McGregor) assumes day-to-day control of the Vatican. Reporters, nuns, priests and other faithful all crowd into St. Peter's Square, waiting for the white smoke from the Conclave. But the Illuminati, a 400-year old, underground secret society, kidnaps the four most likely candidates (preferratti) before the Conclave goes into seclusion. The Illuminati threatens to kill them at 8, 9, 10 and 11 PM, and then destroy the Vatican in a burst of light at midnight. A video feed shows the missing anti-matter vial, which will destroy the Vatican and parts of nearby Rome when the magnetic containment field fails.
The Vatican summons Drs. Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and Vittoria Vetra from CERN to help them solve the Illuminati's threat, save the four preferratti, and replace the vial vial's batteries. Langdon listens to the Illuminati message and deduces that the four cardinals will die at the four alters of the Path of Illumination. However, no one knows where these alters are located. Vetra demands the Swiss Guard fly Father Silvano's diaries from Switzerland. They hope he wrote down the name of whomever he discussed the CERN experiment. Langdon demands access to the Vatican Library (something he has requested 10 times already) to see the original copy of Galileo's banned book. Using the clue from this book, Langdon, Vetra, and Lieutenant Valenti (Victor Alfieri) of the Vatican police race to the first church, only to find the body of the first Cardinal, branded with the word, Earth (in English!). They find the direction of the church with the seond Illuminati alter, but arrive in time to see the next Cardinal die, branded with the word Air. Langdon locates the third church with the third Illuminati alter, but tries to save the third Cardinal from burning to death, while the assassin kills the Vatican policemen. He convinces the Rome police to race to the last church of the Water alter, and manages to save the last Cardinal. However, he must still find the location of the last Illuminati alter. Langdon and Vetra goes to what he suspects is the fifth Illuminati alter, but finds only the assassin, who lets go if they do not pursue him. They follow a tunnel turns out to be a Vatican secret escape tunnel. The Swiss Guard shoot their own Chief, but not before he brands the Camerlengo with the fifth Illuminati symbol. Together, they realize the anti-matter vial must be in St. Peter's tomb, but arrive with not enough time to switch the batteries. The Camerlengo grabs the vial and races to a nearby helicopter. He flies it high enough to save the Vatican, but jumps out before it explodes. Hailed as a hero by the crowd, the Conclave decides to proclaim the Camerlengo as the new Pope, despite the fact he was not a Cardinal. Vetra and Langdon go to the Cheif's office to retrieve Silvano's diaries and discover a hidden camera system the Pope had installed. They show the head Cardinals a recording of the Chief confronting the Camerlengo, who has orchestrated the whole conspiracy to get elected and stop further policy reforms.
When Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret scientific society known as the Illuminati - the most powerful underground organization in history - he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization's most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. Angels and Demons was the reclusive authors third novel after he gave up his job as an English teacher. It tells the story of Langdons brush with a shadowy secret society, the Illuminati, and his frantic quest for the worlds most powerful energy source, in the company of a beautiful Italian physicist whose father, a brilliant physicist, has been murdered.
The team behind the global phenomenon "The Da Vinci Code" returns for the highly anticipated "Angels & Demons," based upon the bestselling novel by Dan Brown. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon, who once again finds that forces with ancient roots are willing to stop at nothing, even murder, to advance their goals. Ron Howard again directs the film, which is produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and John Calley. The screenplay is by David Koepp and Akiva Goldsman.
It is Ron Howard's excellence in directing such films as "A Beautiful Mind" that make this film so superb. It also lies in the simple things that keep characters like Hanks true to life, with his wearing of a simple Mickey Mouse watch, much like the truth to Russell Crowe playing John Nash in "A Beautiful Mind" and admitting to "taking the newer medications." Howard is excellent in depicting the simplicity of complexity and complex issues.
I learn a lot of moral values from this movie. In life, we meet a lot of people, day in day out. People of that sort will become your friends, though you don't know what are their intentions. In this movie, I have never thought that Camerlengo Patrick McKenna is an antagonist especially after how he saved the Vatican City from being bommed. He risked his life for that, I almost thought that he is a hero until Robert (Tom Hanks) played the video Commander Richter's office. None would have thought that the innocent paderi is the one who is behind all this. He is so young, with an innocent look, a look of an angel but a demon in within.
I learnt that we shall not be easily deceived by good looks... and we shall not trust everything of what people's said. Take the ones that are good and discard the bad ones. Many a times, people like to see you failing in your life. Do not give them a chance to do that! Be strong and face the problem. Always remember that there is no impossibility. It is up to you to decide what you want in your life.
